Cross-Cutting Shredding Technology
What kind of shredding technology do you use?
When it comes to selecting a professional paper shredding company in , one of the most important things you want to know is what kind of technology is used to dispose of your confidential papers and records.
One thing you can be sure of is that we utilize state-of-the-art cross-cutting shredding technology to ensure that the shredder services we provide not only meet, but surpass all federal, government and HIPAA compliance standards.
What are the benefits of Cross-Cut Shredding?
Unlike strip-cut shredders that simply cut your documents into narrow strips, which can be reassembled by an investigator, competitor or person intent on identity theft, cross-cut shredders utilize two rotating drums to reduce your documents to tiny diamond-shaped shreds. Your documents are shredded both length-wise and width-wise resulting in tiny pieces of paper resembling confetti.
Sometimes called “confetti-cut shredders,” the equipment that we use to destroy your vital papers provides the highest level of document security because once shredded it is nearly impossible to put the pieces back together again. The end-result - the most secure form of document destruction possible (other than burning), especially when it comes to processing large amounts of material.
Depending upon the level of security that you require, we even have Level 6 High Security shredders that produce tiny particles small enough to meet the strict requirements that have been set by the Department of Defense (DOD) for the destruction of top secret documents.
In addition to the increased level of security, because cross-cut shredders produce smaller pieces of paper, the shredded documents take up significantly less space which is a great benefit when it comes to the final destruction and recycling process. This is especially important for our clients who choose to utilize our on-site office shredding services and need to store the destroyed documents in the locked bins that we provide until the scheduled pick-up day.
